How do I know if I have a TWAIN compliant driver?

If you can use the Image Capture application to scan an image, then it is TWAIN compliant. In order to verify this

1. Launch the Image Capture program found in your Applications folder
2. From the Devices menu, choose Browse Devices
3. Turn down the disclosure triangle next to TWAIN devices
4. Click on your scanner and then click connect
5. If there is a checkbox in the lower left corner that says "Use TWAIN software", make sure it is checked
6. From the devices menu, choose your scanner
7. Do a scan
   

If everything worked, then your scanner is TWAIN compliant.

 

 

Please note that old AGFA scanners are NOT TWAIN compliant.
