The program crashes when I scan. What can I do?

Most crashes during scanning are caused by poorly written scanner drivers. These include drivers from the major scanner vendors including HP, Canon, and EPSON. There are a few things that you may be able to do in order to workaround these bugs (NOTE: these are not problems with ReceiptWallet or DocumentWallet, but in the scanner driver):

1. In the ReceiptWallet or DocumentWallet preferences, change the Transfer mode to either Native or Memory based (whichever it isn't).
2. Contact your scanner vendor and report the problem. While they claim that their drivers are TWAIN compliant, most are quite buggy.
3. Uninstall the drivers. Look in /Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources.
4. Reinstall the drivers.
5. Use the scanner software to scan and then import into ReceiptWallet or DocumentWallet (you can drag into the main window). While this may not be convenient, for some, it is the only reliable option.
