Unfortunately the HP Scan Pro software is one of the worst scanner drivers we've encountered and if things aren't working and you don't have a choice, but to use an HP scanner, you can setup the HP Scan Pro software so that it will scan to ReceiptWallet or DocumentWallet and you won't use the Scan button from within ReceiptWallet or DocumentWallet. Please consult your HP manual on instructions to do this. Also, you can try switching to Memory Based transfers in the application preferences.
In addition, you can use the HP software to scan (start the scan from the HP software) and choose Print from the File Menu and from the PDF menu in the dialog, choose Save PDF to DocumentWallet or Save PDF to ReceiptWallet. While this solution isn't as integrated as we'd like, it is one way to get around the poor quality of HP's software.
