About 4 months ago, we announced that ReceiptWallet for iPhone was coming and had hoped to have something working by now. While we have made some progress on it, there are a number of factors that have made us stop development on it.
First off, the camera on the iPhone can’t focus close enough to get quality images (see below). Second off, the synchronization mechanism with the desktop would not be seamless; you would have to launch ReceiptWallet on the iPhone, click on sync and run ReceiptWallet on the desktop. Apple has not provided a plugin mechanism (like Palm did with HotSync Manager) for third parties to sync data. Third, we’re just not happy with the data entry mechanism. ReceiptWallet on the desktop uses combo boxes to allow you to type a few characters and then a dropdown menu shows everything close; nothing like this exists on the iPhone.
Fourth, and most importantly, we have a strong commitment to quality and believe that the best way to great quality programs is to actually use them ourselves. ReceiptWallet for iPhone is not a product that we see ourselves using because of the items above.
We will continue to improve ReceiptWallet on the desktop and will revisit ReceiptWallet for iPhone at a later date if some of the above issues are overcome.

People have asked for it and we are pleased to say that we are working on ReceiptWallet for iPhone! While we can’t say when it will be ready, it will compliment ReceiptWallet for Mac. As we have some pictures ready to show, we’ll post updates here. If you have anything you’d like to see in the product, please contact us. We can’t guarantee that every request will be included, but we will do our best.
At this time, pricing has not been set. A free update to ReceiptWallet for the Mac will be required to sync the iPhone version and we’ll make that available at the same time that the iPhone version is ready.

Changes from 2.0.5
- Added ability to encrypt libraries.

- Linefeeds in notes fields are now stripped on CSV export.
- Changed autofill to reduce entry time.
- Fixed totaling of receipts under certain conditions.
- If a combobox is displayed when entering information about a new receipt/document and the return key is hit, it only selects the item in the box and doesn’t dismiss the window.

Many users have experienced issues with ReceiptWallet and EPSON scanners. We have identified this as an EPSON scanner issue that manifests itself when you attempt to scan more than once in a ReceiptWallet session. We have found a workaround for this (however, it is still a bug in EPSON’s drivers). The workaround is in the latest beta version of ReceiptWallet. Please see our article on downloading the beta for additional information.
